"All beings want happinessno one wants unhappiness." Ven. Mahasi Sayadaw. What is Happiness? Why don't we have it? Where can Happiness be found? How can we help ourselves to Happiness? Our discussion will focus on these questions by examining the levels of happiness described by the Buddha, culminating in the highest happiness. We will also explore how these various kinds of happiness can be accessed through vipassana meditation. The evening will include a short period of practical meditation and time for Q & A.
Australian Dharma teacher Grahame White has deep roots in the Theravada tradition. His study with Burmese masters Mahasi Sayadaw, Sayadaw U Pandita, and Sayadaw U Kundala began more than forty years ago and continues with yearly periods of retreat and study in Burma. His teaching brings a fresh, deep perspective to the Dharma that flows directly from these roots. Grahame played a primary role establishing Vipassana meditation in Australia. He teaches regularly in Australia and Hawaii, and has been leading retreats in Northern California since 2003.
